The Québec Ombudsman's Office was established in 1969 and ensures that people's rights are respected by intervening with Québec Departments and Agencies, as well as with authorities of the Health and Social Services Network. The Ombudsman request corrective action in situations prejudicial to a person or group of people. He also handles disclosures of wrongdoing against public bodies and reprisal complaints related to such disclosures. The Ombudsman has also other powers.

Free, simple, a confidential recourse, independent and impartial, the Ombudsman reports only to the Quebec National Assembly..
