The Federal Government has declared 2022 as Year of the Garden in Canada. To celebrate this event, the Saint-Lambert Horticultural Society offered a grant of $500 for a horticultural activity in Saint-Lambert schools. The activity organized by the school could be a variety of things such as building a raised flower bed, purchasing plants for an existing flower bed, planting a tree in the school yard or even subsidizing an outing to a public garden such as the Montreal Botanical Garden. The objective was to encourage children to learn about nature, develop new skills, and discover their role in being stewards of the earth. The grant of 500$ was forwarded to the following schools: Currently, Préville, Reach, Saint Anges and Rabeau have received their grant.
