The Taylor Collection at the Historical Society
Published 3 days ago by Mouillepied Historical Society

Following the 100th anniversary of the Taylor family business in 2020 and the accompanying exhibition produced by the Mouillepied Historical Society, Mr. Robert Taylor has recently donated to the Society, the Taylor store’s archives. This collection of archives covers mainly the first 75 years of the enterprise’s existence, which was founded by his grandfather. It includes diverse objects of various categories, such as photographs, publicity and advertising materials, accounting documents, as well as written texts, including minutes of the South Shore Board of Trade, and a brochure published for the opening of the Saint-Lawrence Seaway in 1959.

This entire collection will eventually be inventoried and made accessible to researchers. We would like to thank Robert Taylor for this most generous donation and for his interest in safeguarding this precious and rare collection.
