The South Shore University Women’s Club is composed mainly of English-speaking women of all ages, from all levels of education, and from all backgrounds and walks of life.
It was founded in 1957 in Saint-Lambert, and currently has members from nine different communities on Montreal’s South Shore.
The Club is a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW). Its members actively support CFUW values through their involvement in their communities, their support of public education, their environmental initiatives, and their efforts to raise women’s social, economic and political status.
For over 50 years, the SSUWC has provided scholarships to women pursuing education. Awards are offered at the CEGEP, university and vocational school levels.
Our regular meetings are held on the last Tuesday evening of October, November, February, March, and April at Champlain College. The opening meeting in September is a meet-and-greet that features our scholarship recipients.
