The Société d’histoire Mouillepied is preparing an exhibition that should be inaugurated at the municipal library at the end of the year. Lambertans residents will be able to see and appreciate a series of models representing some emblematic sites of Saint-Lambert in the 1930s and 1940s. The models, the work of the late Earl Couper, represent the « beach », the Astor (photo) and Victoria cinemas, stores such as Taylor and Dupuy, and the Gordon Park band stand, to name but a few. They do, however, need to undergo a slight refresh, by being cleaned or lightly solidified (by gluing small pieces). The Historical Society is therefore looking for volunteers with a bit of skills who could spare a few hours to restore the lustre of these unique artefacts. If you have a little spare time and dexterity, or know the perfect person who could do the job, we would be very grateful. Just drop us a line. You can reach us at 450-465-4242 or at histoire_mouillepied@hotmail.com.
